I am beyond furious and my sponsor is out of town. It happened again. I finally got last week’s paycheck cashed on Wednesday and today this week’s check bounced. Obviously, in spite of what my employer says, I need to find a new job.
It isn’t a surprise to me though. Whenever something terrible is about to happen I usually have dreams about it and I dreamed horrible things about work and about my boss all through the holiday weekend. (I also dreamed things about a new television that could take over one’s mind which, depending on how you look at it, happened already.)
I resent being in this position. I resent having been convinced to move my own cell phone account to the company account, leaving me powerless to do anything with it. I resent that I don’t know if my car payment went through and the fact that my student loan payment – the only thing on my credit record that was perfect – was late last week. I resent suddenly not knowing if or how I’m going to be able to pay my rent in 3 days.
Now I happen to know that last week he took in over $4000 so I can’t imagine why a $300 check is to much to cash. I can’t help it. I hope he dies. The book says to pray for him, right? Pray that he has everything I would want for myself. That’s a very tall order.

Struggles make you stronger. Changes make you wiser.
Don’t wish him dead…then you will never get paid! Look for a new job. It’s always easier to find a new job, when you still have the old one. Don’t wait for things to get worse.
I know exactly how you are feeling right now. I was in the same place at the beginning of December. I know that doesn’t help you…but i enjoy reading your posts, and look forward to them.
Sometimes it helps to know you are not alone in the way that you feel.
I have been one bill away from selling the engagement ring that someone that i loved very much gave to me, for months now. I still have it though. Things seems to fall in to place every month.
Ask God to take control. Trust him. It works.

Not being paid is a civil legal matter. It is unlawful not to pay employees. As far as I know..

Make some enquiries.

If the firm are insolvent, or have ‘dissipated’ their assets, there may be nothing left to recover. a freezing injunction would stop him from spending it before the courts order him to pay damages for breach of (employment) contract..
So yeah, he might try to do a runner before he has to pay, if the company is tanking and he doesn’t want to foot the employee bill. You have to catch em by surprise with freezing injunctions so they don’t get wind of it and run off to spend the remaining cash..

It might do, but no harm in asking. if u know the employer quite well, you might be able to hazard a guess as to wether they are insolvent, but there are usually public records showing the annual accounts. I have no ? idea how much a freezing injunction costs. It depends how much money they owe you if it is worth it.
Basically there’s no point chasing after money from a firm that has no money left. Even if you do get your money it is good to look for something else, as they sound financially like they are on thin ice.
