“It’s a small apartment. I’ve barely had enough room to lay my hat and a few friends.”
-Dorothy Parker
I’ve been more or less out of commission the last couple of days. Got moved Sunday and Monday morning went home from work, ill. Still ill the next morning and went to the doctor who told me to take today off as well. So I did. I am only about half unpacked and situated. I ordered internet service which is unsatisfactory at best. In fact I’m writing this off-line and I’ll have to post it in the 30 seconds or so of service I’ll get by rebooting the modem.
It really is very small. Very small. But I am really excited to be in. I have a friend in New York with a similar sized apartment on 3rd street and I’m astonished that space like this sells for more than $300,000 there. Here it rents for $350/mo and the difference in value is evident in things like the quality of the kitchen cabinets and the finish on the floor and the paint job. When I saw the apartment originally I wasn’t really sure how it would work out as living space, but now that I’m in and things of mine are here I can see that it is going to be more than fine. It was simply a matter of perspective.
A miracle, I’m told, is a change in perspective. I could be looking at $300K or $350/mo and it wouldn’t make any difference because what I’m seeing is my home.
My home.
And that’s a miracle.
(Thanks for the meme tags, kids. As soon as I have a stable inet connection I’ll respond.)

I’m pleased Chris that things are working for you. It might be small but it’s all yours small. Take care mate.
